'Arry Potter!

I found this necklace on Etsy, and I’m totally in love with it! If you’re half as Harry Potter obsessed as I am, then you’ll know that this is a golden snitch. I’m in general a huge fan of owl stuff, so I love that they put one on here.

I started browsing around though, and found this one that I also love, but mostly because it has the great quote: “I open at the close.” This phrase becomes super important in the series and I think it’s just great. J.K. Rowling blows my mind sometimes.

 Anyway, I thought it would be so easy to make a necklace like this, so I’m going to have to do some research and let you know!

Black & Yellow, Black & Yellow

Alright, now that the song is thoroughly stuck in your head, let’s discuss. I used to be completely opposed to the pairing of these two colors with the strong belief that they would make anyone look like a bumblebee. Then, for some unknown reason, I suddenly loved them… when they’re done right. Since I didn’t have time to have a photo shoot, I have piecemealed what my outfit looks like today and I wanted to share it since I thought it looked pretty darn cute.

Cute As A Button

I have been pining for this loveseat from Cost Plus World Market for at least a month. I saw it online and immediately knew it would be perfect in my apartment. Unfortunately, it was only available in stores, and the one in Seattle hadn’t gotten their shipment yet. It took awhile to get it, but it was well worth the wait. My favorite part about it is the buttons. They’re all different patterns, and it just adds a bit of uniqueness. All in all, I'd say it’s the perfect reading space. 

La Primavera

I love spring. It always feels like the epitome of a fresh start. The days become longer, everything is coming back to life in bursts of color and, at least in Seattle, the sun begins making cameos again. One of the most synonymous parts of spring in Washington is the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Yup, that’s right. One whole month wholly devoted to tulips. It’s awesome.

On my way to happy hour drinks with the girls the other night, this was the beautiful sunset over Pike Place Market. It literally stopped traffic because people were standing in the street taking pictures. Oh wait, was that just me?

I Heart Seattle

Seattle frequently gets a bad rep for being uber rainy and gray. Having lived here my whole life, I guess I've never know anything different. The rain makes me appreciate those sunny days even more, and without it, we wouldn't have the lush greenery we're know for (Hello? Can you say Emerald City??). Occasionally, I do get jealous of those girls that get to rock cute skirts in April, and leave their house without thinking twice about whether they might get caught in a rainstorm, a snowstorm, have to avoid being blown into oncoming traffic, or need sunglasses so their retinas don’t burn out of their sockets from the glare (and yes, all of those weather phenoms can, and will, happen in one day).  But regardless of your opinion, Seattle is known for a distinct style (OK yes, sometimes flannel) but for the most part, it’s all about necessity. We need our umbrellas, or our waterproof coats, our warm scarves and of course our coffee. Survival of the fittest!

Every first Thursday, the Seattle Art Museum has free admission between 5-9 p.m. Yesterday I went and took advantage of this little perk and had a fabulous time!

This was the most amazing piece in the whole museum.
For starters, it's absolutely beautiful and looks like
some kind of kimono warrior robe. 

But then when you look closer, it's actually made
up of thousands of dog tags.

And I just loved this one. It was called
"Man and Maus." I think it's hysterical.

Aah, it's Valentine's Day… Aaaand I totally forgot and wore green today. Not just any green, but bright kelly green. It's not like I would have dressed up and worn bright pink hearts all over my body, but all day long, people have been coming up to me and saying: um, it's not St. Patrick's Day ya know. Ouch. With all of this dry, cold, winter weather we've been having, I've been slathering on the lip balm. Maybe it's an addiction, but I cannot live without it. If I were stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing, that'd be it. Hate is not even a strong enough word for how I feel about that burning, cracked, bumpy, dry-skin feeling lips get. Lip balm is my crack. I keep stashes of it everywhere — my desk at work, my car, my purse, my desk at home, my bedside table, my makeup bag… I'm liable to freak out if I don't have one within arm's reach. Now that you know I am a connoisseur of lip moisturizer, here are a couple of my all time favorites, as well as some other winter moisturizer must haves.

Happy Hump Day

It’s Wednesday, and that means you’re at the top of the hump, and only two days away from the weekend! Amy Poehler, who plays the “cool mom” in Mean Girls would say: “I’m gonna make you girls a hump day treat!”

I honestly hate drinks that either have a million ingredients, or really complicated ones. There’s no way I’m going to simmer crystallized cranberries in a vanilla bean simple syrup (and yes, that was a real ingredient for a martini!). Gimme a break. It’s Wednesday, I’m tired, I’ve still got two more days to go, and I just want my damn drink.

Since this is my first post, I decided to grab a couple of things from my "likes" to share.
